Writer's Legacy

Who we are...

Literary Entrepreneurs dedicated to the uplifting and success of writers and self - publishers with a focus on the Michigan area. The host of Detroit's only Literary Awards Banquet with a real Writers Conference and co host of Wordz in Motion literary & entertainment talk show, WL is also a writer's group- open to all. The collective serves to assist artists in their career endeavors, by promoting, educating, and strengthening the literary community through networking events, bookfairs, workshops, author meet & greets and conferences. It is also the our desire to establish an attainable link for aspiring writers within the community. We have vowed to support one another separately and collectively in efforts to ensure the success of our own endeavors as well as making sure Michigan is noted for it's contribution to literacy projects and the publishing industry. WL is working to reach a higher plateau in publishing and we want to take you with us!

What we do...

WL meets once a month for at least two hours, alternating between the Southfield and Detroit Public Libraries, to network, discuss and critique work. We encourage and empower one another while honing our craft. Members are encouraged to share their thoughts, ideas and opinions. We also offer members the opportunity to showcase themselves and their work. Many resources are provided. We are a diverse group that has in our ranks not only authors & writers or books & poetry, but newspaper and magazine  publishers, film producers and playwrights. All are welcome. While our core is located in Michigan, membership is open to all states.

For the kids -we also sponsor Write On! Workshop for Teens (14-18 years) &
Co Sponsor of Beyond the Bars Prison Writing Contest. for more details visit BTB Contest
